15-Second Bill Gates Elevator Spiel

 

What if you met Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey in an elevator. What would you say?

 

"Imagine that you've got 15 seconds -- from the floor where you get on to the floor where he or she gets off -- to share your enthusiasm and sell yourself and your idea (Johncock 2003)."

ASSIGNMENT

 

Give your "elevator spiel" to 3-5 people (more if you wish).  No notes, either.  Make sure you stick to "15 seconds."  Then, ask the other person what grabbed their attention most.  Write down what they say.
